Extractions

Extractions

While avoiding an extraction is generally preferred, there are cases where removing a tooth is the best option for treatment. At Laguna Pavilion Dental, we make the tooth extraction process as simple and painless as possible with our expert care.

Extractions

Teeth are meant to last a lifetime, but in certain cases, removing a natural tooth is either the best or only option for treatment. Dr. Sattout will carefully evaluate your unique smile to determine if the tooth in question can be saved or if it needs to be extracted.

Our extraction process is designed to be efficient, painless, and provide patients with maximum comfort during the entire procedure. All extractions are done in our Elk Grove office for your convenience!

When Does a Tooth Need to Be Extracted?

There are many reasons a tooth may need to be extracted. The tooth may have extensive decay that can’t be fixed with a root canal and the only choice is to remove the tooth. Your tooth may also have an infection that requires the tooth to be pulled to completely resolve the issue.

For some adults and children, teeth will need to be extracted prior to orthodontic treatment. Whether your child has a primary tooth that won’t come out or you have crowded teeth as an adult, we work with you to make the best decision for your oral care.

Teeth that have been damaged from trauma such as an accident or a tooth fracture may also need to be extracted. In some cases, these teeth can be repaired at our office, but for teeth with extensive damage, removal may be the only choice.

If we can save your natural tooth, rest assured we will make every attempt to do so. However, when extraction is appropriate, we make the process as worry-free as possible for adults and children alike!
